19th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 19th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set for Sunday March 16th at 1p.m. The parade route starts at Mile Post 11.25 and ends at Mile Post 10.25. This year the parade theme is “Inform Yourself AND Get Out to Vote”. Grand Marshal is The League of Women Voters of Dare County and officers of the Dare County Board of Elections. The parade has a colorful group of floats, marching bands, cars, and marching and walking units.

This year it is expected to have about 1,500 to participate in the parade while an estimated 9,000 people are expected to view the parade. It is said to be the largest St.Patrick’s Day Parade in North Carolina. If you would like to register to be in the parade you can visit www.kellysrestaurant.com and download an application. You can also get applications at Mako Mikes in Kill Devil Hills.

Prizes are awarded for Best Overall and first through third places in Best Float, Unit and Band or Music Theme. There is also Two Theme winners who are selected for the observers\groups along the parade route who demonstrate the parade theme.
