Events scheduled year-round.Don’t miss the NC Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island, just a block away, that features a working boathouse and the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse.The screw-pile light is a reproduction of one that stood near the site. North Carolina Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island

The NC Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island will offer a variety of maritime skills, boatbuilding, sailing programs and workshops throughout the year in the Creef Boathouse. Dare County High School Art Show

Art Gallery
Dare County High School youth show their best work during the month of April. The annual exhibition is always eclectic featuring two- and three-dimensional art. Expect to see portraits, landscape paintings, abstracts, mixed media work and more. An opening reception will be held on April 6 from 4-6 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Shoreline Entertainment Presents “Kicking Country”

Film Theatre
The new spring show will run from April 17 - April 27 with both evening and afternoon performances. If you saw Kickin’ Country last spring and enjoyed it, then you are certainly in for a treat this year! If you didn’t see Kickin’ Country last year, then you certainly don’t want to miss this year’s production! Shoreline Entertainment has taken the best of last year and added new songs and dances and two brand new sections to the show this year. Kickin’ Country will take you on a journey through the different styles of country music. Act one will take you back to the days of the Wild West, complete with Cowboys and Can-Can Girls, then you will experience the classic country songs you know and love from the 60’s through the 80’s, as the show takes you to the fun and excitement of the 4th of July County Fair. In Act Two, you will enjoy the great new country sounds of the 90’s through today and enjoy some amazing, high energy dancing. The show will close with an inspirational Gospel section that will leave you feeling good and will have your hands clappin’ and your toes tappin’. This show is filled with wonderful singing, exciting dancing, hilarious comedy, beautiful new costumes and an all new, impressive set. Shoreline Entertainment will, once again, be collaborating with Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe’ to provide a dinner and show package that will make for a perfect outing for your family or group. North Carolina Maritime Museum
Build your own Kayak
April 12, 19, 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Build a 14 foot kayak. This workshop will meet on three consecutive Saturdays. At the end of the workshop the participants will have a 14 foot wooden kayak. The class is limited to four teams.
