Bonner Bridge catwalk repairs
Published November 24, 2007 by adminThe popular fishing spot known as the catwalk, two strips of public access on either side of the south end of the Bonner Bridge, are undergoing maintenance and repairs.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) work on the east side is now completed and it reopened November 16th, but the west side will be getting attention for the next several weeks.
The west side will close at 8:00 am on Monday, November 26th, and work is estimated to be finished in about a month.
Perched high above the roiling waters of Oregon Inlet, the Bonner Bridge catwalk is a unique destination for anglers wetting lines for any fish that bites.
The NCDOT thanks the public for their cooperation and patience while they do the necessary maintenance so that the catwalks remain safe for use.
