Currituck flower and garden show
Published March 18, 2008 by Sabrina GordonThe only garden show in northeast North Carolina is happening on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12. It will be held at new cooperative extension facility at 120 Community Way in Barco, next to Central Elementary School. The show hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and form 9 to 6 PM on Saturday.
The theme this year is Going Native. Seminars and workshops will give how-to’s on horticultural topics. There will be a wide variety of plants for sale along with vendors that will have an array of garden art, garden furniture, and bird feeders, and much more. Demonstrations will help gardeners with designing their gardens, taking care of garden pests, and growing annuals.
There will be an area called The Secret Garden for children. It will offer activities like hands on projects and little kids can explore mystery critters in the garden or look at garden literature and relax among the greenery. There will also be door prizes awarded and raffles will be held. If you would like more information call the NC Cooperative Extension Service Currituck County Center at 232-2262.
