Kill Devil Hills Bulk Trash Pick-up
Published September 28, 2007 by adminThe Town of Kill Devil Hills has planned their bulk trash collection for October 15th.
Beginning September 29th, you may start placing items needing discarding from all houses within the town limits. Items are to be placed in the street side rights-of-way from September 29th until October 14th.
The Kill Devil Hills Public Services Department rules are as follows: items are to be bundled according to debris type–1) branches and small tree trunks; 2) bagged yard waste such as pine cones and leaves ; 3) white goods and metal items (like appliances); and 4) large furniture, mattresses, etc.
Loose yard waste must be placed in paper biodegradable bags, a limited supply of which is being offered at the Town Recycling Center at 701 Bermuda Bay Blvd. or can be purchased from local hardware and garden supply stores.
RESTRICTIONS APPLY (such as no motor or other oils, no glass items like TV sets, no construction materials and no hazardous materials like batteries, to name a few), and improperly sorted piles will NOT be collected, so make sure to follow the Town’s guidelines to ensure proper collection.
Also, following the rules will help keep waste and debris from becoming wind-blown litter throughout the clean Kill Devil Hills streets and neighborhoods!
