Kitty Hawk Heritage Day Festival Sat. Sept 29
Published September 27, 2007 by adminThe Promenade at the foot of the bridge in Kitty Hawk will be hopping Saturday, September 29th for Kitty Hawk Heritage Day.
Every kind of music, crafts, kid’s activities, exhibits, performances, contests and demonstrations will be happening. You name it–it’ll be featured, all live and all day, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm!
Free shuttle from parking at Wal-Mart and handicapped parking at Victory Chevrolet gets you in & out safely and quickly (no Promenade parking), and admission is FREE! Shuttles start at 10:00 am and stop at 4:25 pm.
A 5K race at Barrier Island Fitness Center kick-starts the day at 9:00 am–runners should visit www.townofkittyhawk.com or go to the Town Hall to register. Sign-up begins that morning at 8:00 am. Race fees are $10/adult and $5/under 18.
From 10:00 am on, the old Kitty Hawk local flavor will be highlighted in crab shedding and vintage fishing tackle displays; exciting EMS, Police, Fire Dept. and Coast Guard exhibits are planned; food & non-alcoholic beverages will be available; drawings for prizes, and music and bands will play all day.
This is a clean, fun way to celebrate the whole Kitty Hawk community, but all beach residents and visitors alike are welcome. There’s usually room for help, so you can volunteer by calling Sandy Hawley at (252) 261-3552.
