Nags Head looking for Volunteer Firefighters

The town of Nags Head is looking for men and women who are interested in becoming volunteer firefighters. The minimum requirements are you must be at least 18 years old. You must complete the volunteer firefighter application and live or work in Nags Head. Submit to a drug test and pass a personal background\driving history check. Complete emergency related training and annual physicals. Complete a personal interview with the Fire Chief Volunteer Firefighter Benefits and paid membership in the NC Fire Rescue Pension Fund. You would get annual cash incentives for your response and also general workers compensation insurance coverage.

Volunteers assist in the response and correction of emergencies in Nags Head. They may be involved with rescue services and rendering first aid during medical emergencies, also strenuous firefighting operations. Response can be calls that may involve homes, businesses, the beach and roadways. Sometimes volunteer firefighters may be called to serve the town during storms and floods or other natural disasters. Volunteers also provide support and relief when more resources are required in order to stabilize an incident.
