Portrait Contest given by the Dare County Arts Council
Published April 6, 2008 by Sabrina GordonA lucky winner of the raffle portrait contest will win a 20-inch by 24-inch head and shoulder oil portrait by well-known local artist John De La Vega. The portrait will be done from life or from a photograph that the artist will take. His portraits sell for $7,000 and his adult portraits sell for $9,000. The timing for the completion of the portrait will depend on the availability of the sitter and De La Vega.
You can recieve one of these raffle tickets for $25 from the Dare County Arts Council Gallery in Manteo or the KDH Coop in Kill Devil Hills. The raffle will take place in June at the DCAC annual meeting or when the 350 available tickets have been sold. For more information call DCAC at 473-5558. Proceeds will benefit the Dare County Arts Council Gallery and Endowment.
