Son of the last lighthouse keeper at the Bodie Island Lighthouse will be signing his book

John Gaskill is the son of the last lighthouse keeper of the Bodie Island Lighthouse and has written a book called John Gaskill Remembers. He will be at the Bodie Island Visitor Center on Tuesday, May 13 from 10a.m. to 1p.m.
In the book Gaskill tells many wonderful stories of growing up on the Outer Banks and of living at the lighthouse;such as painting the lighthouse by hand and putting out the flame of the lighthouse, and also of the wreck of the schooner Laura Barnes. Gaskill who is now 92 is a wonderful piece of history of the Bodie Island Lighthouse.
The book signing is sponsored by Eastern National, who is a cooperating association with the National Park Service at Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
