Duck is a young town having only become incorporated in 2002. Sitting on the border with Southern Shores to the south and the border with Currituck County to the north, Duck has evolved from a sleepy fishing village into an upscale resort town. Most of the subdivisions consist of one cul-de-sac street with a private beach access on the ocean.

Oceanside is considered to be on the ocean side of the Rt 12 so you will find houses that are oceanside but still quite a distance from the ocean. If the rental income is important to you then you will want to stay away from the houses that a far from the beach.

One of the most sought after amenities renters look for in a rental house is proximity to the ocean. Other than that, Duck is a wonderful little town with a picturesque downtown and modern rental homes throughout. Town Of Duck

The number of properties selling is still down from the record breaking years but not by much. The median prices are up from last year and the average prices are at a record highs. The town of Duck continues to buck the trend going around the country by holding onto it's real estate values. There is a large inventory of properties for sale and sellers are willing to negotiate but this does not indicate a real estate market in trouble.

One of the best houses with a view in Duck right now is 119 S Snow Geese Drive and another sweet deal with a pool and sound views is 1379 Duck Road.
